Who Is 1019? The Berlin Crew Behind the Numbers
If you've seen the 1019 bubble logo and wondered what the numbers mean, you're not alone. Here's a quick guide to the crew for new fans and old ones.
Where does the name 1019 come from?
The name is two Berlin postcodes put together. 101 stands for Berlin-Mitte, where the postcodes start with 101. 19 comes from the old address "1000 Berlin 19", which meant Charlottenburg. Two parts of the city, one name.
Who is in 1019?
1019 is Lucio101, Omar101, Nizi19 and Karamel19, who used to go by Big Mullet. Yuyu19, once known as Haribo19, joined the crew in 2024. They all release music of their own too, so you'll see their names on plenty of solo and duo projects.
How did it start?
Before 1019 was a crew, it was an album. In 2019 Lucio101 and Nizi19 released 1019 together on their own label, 1019 Records. In 2021 the friends came together as a crew under the same name.
What does 1019 sound like?
Berlin street rap: dark, stripped-back beats and lyrics about life in the capital. New to the crew? Start with the Lost Files albums, where everyone is on the same record, then dig into the solo and duo releases.
